The Middle East Downstairs Sound Production Specs and Inventory

Summary: We have a 4-way Stereo PA System, with EAW cabs and Crest
power amps, a 40 channel Soundcraft console with BSS eq's and crossover, and
plenty of comps, gates, and effects. At monitors, we have a 40x8 Allan & Heath
console with DBX eq's, and 6 amplified mixes plus drum sub with Crest power
amps, EAW wedges and JBL sidefills and drumfill. We have an assortment of
Shure, Audix, Sennheiser, and AKG mics.

Front of House:

Console: Soundcraft k2 40 channel x 8 subgroup x 2 main outs, with 8 aux
sends and 4 matrix outs. TRS inserts.

Equalization: BSS Dual 31 band graphic eq.

Compression and gates: 12 channels of compression and 8 gates- 2 Drawmer,
4 dbx 166, 2 Behringer Composer, 4 Behringer Multi-com, 4 U.S. Audio Gatex
gate/expander, 4 Behringer Multigate, (all TRS insertable).

Effects: Lexicon PCM 41 Digital Delay, Lexicon MPX 100 dual multi-effect
processor, Yamaha Rev 100 digital reverb, Alesis Quadraverb multi-effects
processor, Yamaha SPX90.

Recording and playback: Tascam CD-RW2000 Realtime CD recorder (records
stereo board mixes from console matrix outs). Numark CDN12 Professional CD
player (racked permanently at FOH).

P.A.:

Speaker Cabinets: 6 EAW MH-102's (active mid-high packs similar to 650's), 8
EAW SB-500's (double 15" low/subs), 2 JBL SRX's (double 18" subs).

Crossover: BSS FDS 340 Dual 4-way dividing system.

Amplifiers: 1 Crest 7001, 3 Crest 8001's, 1 Crown Macrotech 3600. Total
maximum power output = 19,000 watts.

Snake: 32 XLR channels + 4 XLR reverse sends split to FOH and monitors.

Monitors: We provide 6 bi-amped mixes and 2x single 18 amplified drum sub.

Console: Allan & Heath GL 2800 40 channel, 8 mix, 2 stereo out.

Equalization: 6 DBX 1231 31 band and 2 Klark-Teknik 31 band DN360 graphic
eq's.

Compression and gates: 4 channels Behringer Multicom, 2 channels dbx
compression, 4 channels Behringer Multigate, (TRS insertable).

Wedges: 6 EAW SM500 15" x 2" bi-amped cabs.

Sidefills and Drum monitor: 2 JBL 2-12" x 2" bi-amped cabs, 1 custom 15 x 2
cab w/ 2 single 18 sub.

Monitor Amplifiers: 3 Crest 4801's, 3 Crest 7001's, with Crest crossover circuit
cards installed. Maximum power per mix = 1400 watts

Microphones: 8 Shure SM58's, 9 Shure SM57's, 3 Shure Beta58s, 1 Shure
Beta57, 1 Shure Beta56, 2 Shure Beta52s, 3 Audix OM5's, 4 Audix D2's, 2 Audix
D3's, 2 Audix D4's, 3 Sennheiser 609s, 3 Sennheiser 504s, 3 Audix ADX50
condenser mics, 1 crown cr 700 condenser mic

D.I.'s: 4 active Countryman, 5 passive custom.

Drum riser: 6' x 8', 1' high

Stage Power: 4- 20 amp stage quads. (100 amps of extra power is available
from a single-phase cam lock tie-in, with 2 weeks notice prior to the show. Some
extra production expense may be added.)

Stage Dimensions: 20 feet wide (6.1m) x 25 feet deep (7.6m). Vertical
clearance is 7 feet from stage floor to stage ceiling (2.14m), and 10 feet from
audience level to ceiling (3m). The stage is 2.5 feet high (0.76m). (Yes our club is
in a basement and yes, it really used to be a bowling alley, but many bands feed
off the compressed energy of the stage, and some swear they have their best
shows here!)

Mix Position: Left of center, 50 feet (15m) from the stage.

Monitor Position: Stage left

Load in: 1 narrow flight of stairs down directly to the stage, or 1 wide flight down
to the back of the room with ramp access to the stage.
